To get you started....

Continuing on the last posts here a few ideas to get you started:

  • Lowe's offers an excellent magazine and website with new ideas each month for projects around the house. It's fun stuff like a new planter or a colorful to bring spring into your home.
  • Hobby Lobby and Michael's craft store each offer all types of classes. On the Hobby Lobby website you'll need to put in your zipcode to find your local store. The link to Michael's will take you straight to the site about their classes. Hobby Lobby also offers their "Project: Inspiration" site, you can find it here
  • One of my personal favorites is Zentangles. All you need is a pen and paper.
  • Here is a site full of writing prompts. Maybe you'll like it so much you'll start your own blog.
These are just a few ideas. I pulled out my digital camera this morning and I plan on snapping a few pictures. I'll let you know how it goes.

Express yourself!

Every woman needs a creative outlet. I'm sure men need one as well but I'll let someone else write to that
audience. Whether you're a new mom suffering from lack of sleep or a corporate executive with too few hours in the day or maybe a college student burning the midnight oil to finish a paper. Creativity comes in many different ways. For me, it is writing to whoever will read it here and drawing. I have a friend who uses photography as an outlet and one who gardens. The idea is to find something where you invest energy into yourself and not others. I know that sounds selfish but we need to take care of ourselves as well as others. In the end, it rejuvenates us and we can care for those around us even better. If you feel like you should still be doing something for someone else, here's an idea. Make a flower basket and take it to a shut-in or someone who is sick. You are able to use your creativity to make the basket but you share it with someone else. Recently, I've found that I like to put my doodles on the front of greeting cards and use them for birthdays or holidays. I get to draw and express myself but I get to share the card with someone else. With that being said.... your homework is to find a creative outlet and post in the comments. I look forward to reading what y'all are up to!
